We are headquartered in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Is there a warranty?

Backed by a 70-year-old parent company with 30 years in mission critical lighting, Oelo products are built to last.  Our UL-listed, IP68-rated, Dark Sky Compliant LEDs are rated for 100,000 hours of use, and each system comes with a 7-year warranty transferable to one additional owner of the home.

Can the lights change color?

Yes. Each individual LED can be set to a different color.  There are more than 16 million hues available.

How do I change the color of the lights?

Through use of an iPhone or Android smartphone or tablet. Oelo Evolution works with Alexa and Google Home.  While WiFi connectivity is encouraged, it is not required.

How many movement patterns are there?

You can customize your own preset programs within the app & create patterns with our 17 different movement settings.  The program comes with more than 55 pre-made patterns and various white light pre-sets.  Lights can be individually controlled to be used as security or pathway lighting.

How long do the lights last?

100,000 Hours — 12hrs/day for 22yrs or 8hrs/day for 34yrs

Are these lights energy efficient?

Yes. LED lighting uses approximately 80% less energy than traditional lighting. Each LED uses .7watts – One 100w light bulb consumes roughly the same energy as 142 LEDs.

Do the lights comply with light pollution standards?

Oelo meets several Dark Sky Lighting standards:  10.13 lumens per LED, Kelvin configurable, Dimmable.  For more information, see the Light Pollution Flier.

What happens when the lights burn out?

LED lights do not “burn” out like traditional incandescent lights. After approximately 100,000 hours of use, the colors may start to degrade.

How long can I run the lights at one time?

Our lights can run 24 hours a day, so keep them shining as long as you wish!

Can I use a timer with Oelo lights?

The Oelo app features a built-in timer that lets you set the time, day and duration that your lights run.

If one light goes out, do I have to replace all of them?

No. Each light runs on an independent light engine and can be replaced individually.

What happens if the lights get wet?

Our lights are IP68-rated, meaning they can be fully submersed in water. We’ve even frozen them in ice to prove their durability.

Do the lights require maintenance?

No. If the lights are properly installed, they should be fully and independently functional for many years.

How many colors of channel do you offer?

Oelo offers 10 different channel lighting colors: light grey, dark grey, white, cream, tan, light brown, dark brown, green, blue and black.  Custom colors are available for an additional charge.

Can I paint the channel?

Yes. You can safely and easily paint the channel on our lighting system to perfectly match your structure. We recommend you mask over the channel lens with tape before painting.

How many lights can be run at once?

One Control Unit provides power for up to 500’, or 600 lights and regulates Oelo’s lighting functions (up to 6,000 lights).  Additional lights can be added to the same system with power boosters.

Are these lights high voltage?

Our lights are all low voltage and run on 36v power supplies, which plug into standard 120v plugs.

Can I start with a smaller section and add lights in later?

Yes. Our lighting system is modular, so parts can be added or subtracted at any time.

Do your lights attract bugs?

Bugs are not as likely to be attracted to our lights due to the lack of ultraviolet rays and the smaller amount of heat generated in comparison to other forms of lighting.

How do you communicate to the controller from your phone?

Our cloud-based system can be controlled from any iPhone or Android device through WiFi, cellular, or Ethernet connection.  Oelo also offers a locally controlled option that doesn’t require an internet connection.

Do you issue software updates for the Oelo app?

Yes. We are constantly updating and upgrading the Oelo app, as well as the Oelo controller. If your controller is connected to your personal WiFi we can update it to the newest and most advanced software available.7
